Tilly is a crossbreed, half Bedlington Terrier and half Glen of Imaal Terrier. Like all the dogs in Harry's pack she was a rescued dog, and her story is told in the first book in the Dog Tales Series. She is now five years old, and is without doubt, the 'Leader of the Pack' She takes charge of the other dogs who all respect her position as 'Top Dog' in the household. she can be very, very, bossy but equally, she will rush to the defence of any of the other dogs if she feels they are being threatened. She has also taken on the role of 'Mother' to Snoopy the puppy who recently joined Harry's pack, even allowing him to share her bed, and making sure he is snuggled up close to her at night before the lights are tunred out and the dogs all settle down to sleep.
Tilly is very intelligent and attends a weekly dog training school where she loves to 'strut her stuff' on the agility course, and take part in search and rescue training exercises. She is so fast around the agility ring that she literally leaves Harry standing as she sets off and negotiates the various obstacles without any instruction from him. Her' 'Top Dog' influence even extends to the training sessions where she thinks that she is the 'Leader of the Pack' and Tilly just loves to show off in front of the other dogs and owners, and newcomers to the course no matter how large or small are usually 'Tilly'd when they first join, by being barked at and 'put in their place' by the little boss of the course.

Tilly's favourite toy is her tennis ball, which she'll carry around and play with on the field close to where Harry lives. She loves nothing better than to run in large circles with the ball in her mouth, preferable with one of the other dogs chasing after her. Tilly is so fast that she seems to know that no-one can catch her, but loves the thrill of the chase.
When she's not running and playing, she loves to sit with Harry in his office, usually with her head resting on one of his feet as he writes and is known in the household as 'Harry's Assistant, the Computer Dog'
She has her own footstool in Harry's living room where she curls up in an evening and can keep her beady eye on the other dogs from her elevated position.
Tilly is a wonderful example of the happiness that can be brought into a little dog's life, even after a very bad start in life.
Don't miss 'the often sad, but eventually totally heartwarming story that is Tilly's Tale', due for release very soon from 4RV Publishing.

TILLY'S LATEST NEWS! JULY 28TH, 2009
By Harry
Tilly, whose book Tilly's Tale will soon be released by 4RV Publishing, proved herself to be a real star a few days ago. We were on the field near our home walking our dogs, when one of them was attacked by a vicious schnauzer who pinned him to the ground. In a flash, Tilly ran thirty yards and pounced on the attacker and pulled it away from Jarvis, a little Westie who is 14 years old, almost blind and very deaf, and staying with us as a guest while his owners are away. The attacker fled, but poor Tilly was left with a nasty wound in her side where it bit her as she defended poor old Jarvis. Despite her wound, Tilly went to agility and dog training at the weekend and enjoyed herself as always, though she was a bit slower than usual. Truly, my little dog is a real star.
